Do it [social] is the LAZY MESSY BACKWARDS version of Do It Yourself.
There you go, I just described myself in three words.
- Lazy—crowdsource and form partnerships
- Messy—a work in progress and “permanently BETA”
- Backwards—launch, experiment, make changes according to feedback, data and trends.
Actually—because I’m lazy—I stole the combination of those three words from Scott Porad, the CTO behind some of today’s most high-trafficking blogs including I CAN HAS CHEEZBURGER and Fail Blog. Porad gave a keynote at Wordcamp Seattle—I was lazy and streamed it live—and he talked about the new way of doing online business:
Do the simplest thing that could possibly work.
Thus born Do it [social]. A blog that shares my random life happenings—in moderation, University of Washington M.C. Digital Media research and experience, and my Amateur social media strategies in real-ish-time.
