About

Hi! I’m Nicole, a social media amateur and University of Washington M.C. Digital Media grad student.

I am driven by new technology and how it enables us to improve the way we connect and share. When information is free and accessible, people are empowered to self-organize and be the change they want to see.

The collective voice is the new influencer.

‘Amateur’ in its purest and most definitional sense means someone who does it for the love of thing, doesn’t mean unskilled or untalented, it means motivated by something other than money. –Clay Shirky

DoItSocial

Your brand has a story and we want to help share it. Your customers are savvy and we want you to meet them. Why do it yourself when you can do it social?

“Human beings are social creatures–not occasionally or by accident but always,” wrote Clay Shirky in Here Comes Everybody. “We now have communications tools that are flexible enough to match our social capabilities.”

Yes, Do it [social] is a play on the DIY ethic, but more importantly comments on a global shift in the philosophy of business communication and a rapid growth in media technology.

Today tools for content production and distribution are in the pockets of millions. You will not win a yelling match against the collective voice of your customers, nor will you compete with their reach.

But with a social strategy you can partner with your customers, listen to them, and customize online communication tools to collaborate–AND get things done!
